EnerMan Description

EnerMan developed an innovative framework for energy-efficient manufacturing system management, addressing the critical need for sustainability in industrial production. The project focused on creating advanced tools and methodologies for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing energy consumption in manufacturing processes.

The EnerMan system integrated multiple cutting-edge technologies including:

  • Big Data Collection and Analytics: A comprehensive platform for collecting and analyzing energy-related data from manufacturing systems
  • Computational Prediction Engine: Advanced algorithms for forecasting energy consumption patterns
  • Intelligent Decision Support System: AI-powered tools to provide actionable recommendations for energy optimization
  • Virtual Factory Life Long Learning Platform: Training and knowledge sharing tools for continuous improvement
  • CPS Assisted Intelligence: Cyber-physical systems integration for holistic data processing

The framework utilized physics-based modeling, neural networks, and predictive analytics to enable real-time energy management decisions. It incorporated edge computing capabilities with flexible, adaptable control loops, along with VR/XR toolbox for sustainability situational awareness.

The integrated system was validated through pilot trials in real industrial environments, demonstrating significant potential for reducing energy consumption and improving manufacturing sustainability across diverse production scenarios.
